We organized a Parents Day celebration on 19 May 2018, where children showed their appreciation to their parents’ unconditional love and care. The event started off with an overview by Centre Principal on the SSDB project that the centre is embarking on.
Centre Principal giving our parents a welcome address and overview of our project.
Next, Parents participated in upcycling workshops with their children conducted by class teachers. They used “under-utilized resources” to create something more useful and meaningful such as boats and games.
Children then presented their hand-made cards to parents to celebrate Parents’ efforts in nurturing their children to their fullest potential.
The event ended with a Charity Sale where Parents bought upcycled artwork that children created using tokens of contribution. The money collected will be donated to Bo Tien Home for the Elderly to help in their programme for our needy senior citizens.
It was truly a meaningful and heartwarming event where parents, children and centre come together to help people in our community.
