Paper Making

On 19th August 2020, the K1 and K2 children of Bright Juniors Pte Ltd (Woodlands) participated in a recycled paper-making activity. The purpose of the activity was to create handmade ‘thank you’ cards to thank our brave neighbourhood frontliners for the things they do during this Covid-19 pandemic. In line with the centre’s focus on showing our appreciation for our frontliners and also, caring for the environment by practising the 3Rs, the children made their own recycled papers from used papers for the cards.

They first shredded the used paper into small pieces to be soaked into a basin of water overnight. The children then blended the soaked papers to make pulp. Then they poured the pulp onto the paper making trays and let the pulp dry. Once the papers have dried, they were then ready to be used to make the cards!
