Our Little Lives Project

17 May 2018, Thursday Virtual Launch party at Jenius Kindergarten Hougang

Parents stepped in with their children holding their creations in their hands proudly. They were ushered into their K2 classroom where booths were set up by their teachers. The K2s placed their stuff on the allocated tables. Parents were welcomed by the principal and the teachers. Parents were appointed as the facilitators while their children were the hosts of the game booths. K1s were invited to be their participants. The K2s explained about the materials used to form their games and how the game is to be played. Teachers were the onlookers. The K2s proudly hosted their games as the K1s were happily playing. The environment was filled with joy and excitement as the children were having their hands-on. Parents too had their proud moments as they watched their children hosting the games that they created. Wow, recycled materials have transformed into exciting creations by our little genius minds!!

Marvellous creations by our Jenius kids using recycled materials.

Our K2s used little toy cases to form a musical apparatus for their little Nursery friends. Little coloured pebbles those that can be found in fish tanks were collected by our pupils. The toy cases are those that can be collected on a game vending machine. All these recycled items were contributed by our centre pupils. Our K2 teacher then guided the K2s to form shaker toys with these recycled materials. Upon completing their tasks, the K2s proudly presented them to their Nursery friends. The Nursery pupils happily received their gifts from their older peers. These musical apparatus shall be used during their music lesson by the Nursery teacher.

Old CDs were collected by our pupils and teachers. Broken earrings, bracelets and sequins were collected by our teachers and pupils too. Our pupils then used craft glue and pasted these broken accessories onto the CDs to form CD wind spinners. These CD wind spinners were then hung on the ceilings of our K2 classroom.
