Our Final Story - Fundraising Sale Part 2: Parents - Teachers meeting.

It was certainly very encouraging for all of us when the response to our sales at Montfort Junior was overwhelming and beyond our expectation. We certainly look forward to our next sale during our Parents-Teachers meeting on 26 May 2017.

After our fundraising sale at Montfort, pupils were asked to reflect on the SSDB project journey so far and to pen down their reflections. To many of them, they were just excited and happy to work as a team in order to help the people in need. They particularly enjoyed the fundraising event at Montfort Junior, where not only did they get to promote and sell their products, they also got to mingle with the Montfort boys.

Following the event and reflections, pupils continued to be very enthusiastic and more than eager to help as teachers share more stories about the needy during our assembly talk. More recycled materials were collected and they continued to make more craftworks for the next sale. With more than 4 tables of display of beautiful art pieces, we were all set for our second sale on 26 May 2017.

Parents were very proud to see their children’s craftworks and were more than happy to buy them home while supporting our fundraising project. The sales ended with most of the craftworks sold!

At the end of the sales, we were eager to know whether we had met our fundraising sales target. Looking at the notes and coins, we had the feeling that we could have exceeded and as we counted, our excitement grew.

Yes! We did it! The total amount collected was $1000, way beyond our targeted amount of $500! Hooray! It was a great success! We are really thankful to all who have contributed and supported us in one way or another, making the project a big success.❤

We had come to the end of our SSDB Fundraising Project Journey 2017! But it’s certainly not the end of our learning journey, especially for our pupils. They have since learned to be more loving and compassionate towards people.

So once again here goes our cheer:

“Creative hands and loving hearts, let’s all come and do our part. We will bring warmth and love to their hearts.”

Let’s all continue with our passion and help out others whenever we can. No one can do everything but everyone can do something!
