One of Sherwood Childcare SSDB objectives in care and share was to run a fund raising project to support The Children’s Cancer Foundation. We hope, through this project, our children learn to appreciate that they are children that need their support too.
We started this project on our Fathers’ Day Fun Fair on 17 June 2017.
We organized games for our children’s father.
They had a great time at the fun fair. We then proceeded to the Bazzar where parents contributed and bought food to support the charity drive.
Pre-loved items such as clothing, toys, books etc donated by the parents were put on sale at the Bazzar.
The response was great at the Bazzar and we continued our fun raising at The Racial Harmony Day on 21 July 2017.
We started the day with a tour of our IGP Project Delivery – Sustainability Trio (Water Wall, Solar Tower and Aquaponics) and Butterfly Garden.
Food representing diverse cultures on sale during the event.
More pre-loved items were put on sale at the event and the parents supported this event by generously contributed to our fund raising project.
Stage three of our fund raising project is a Food Fair at our National Day Celebration on 8 August 2017.
Children sang and performed for their parents. Parents were encouraged to join in the Singapore Workout.
Teachers prepared food for sale at the celebration / fun raising event. Parents contributed fruits.
Greens planted by children were on sale too.
We have other channels to raise fund for Children’s Cancer Foundation too. They were:
Sale of vegetable produced on our Sustainability Trio – taken care by our children.
Donation Box placed at the Centre’s reception.
Our next and final fun raising event for this project will be an all-you-can-eat buffet at our Mid Autumn Celebration on 29 September 2017.
At this point in time, we are happy to report that we have already exceeded the target that we have set up when we started this fund raising project. We look forward to having more fun with our supportive parents at the Mid Autumn Celebration.
We would like to thank the parents of our children who have supported and walked with us on our Charity Journey.
