We kicked off our SSDB program by starting with our Earth Day program last 21st April 2017. We had the chance to invite the parents to join their children in our Nature Walk to Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve and made them aware of how they can take part in caring for the environment.
The children also took their part to donate reusable materials to school and sort them in their respective containers. These materials were used to make their group and individual projects that can be utilized in school or at home. It was a test of children’s patience, cooperation and creativity too.
It was our pleasure to invite a staff from NEA, Ms Fiona Loh, who conducted a talk and interactive storytelling about recycling and environmental topics with our K1 and K2 children. They get themselves involved and hyped during the activities.
To end our SSDB campaign, we celebrated our Parents’ Day celebration last 16th June by inviting parents of K1 and K2’s to team up with their children to do Maze Art and Craft using recycled materials. Through this activity, they learnt the importance of recycling, bond with their parents and apply their creativity to achieve something meaningful and educational without spending money on it.
