This year’s Start Small Dream Big is about “My Community, My Family” which we focused on introducing the community helpers and their contribution in the community.
K1 and K2 children at Presbyterian Preschool Services- Yishun were engaged in a story entitled “Mellie’s Marvelous Garden”, it is about explaining what kindness is. In this story, they learnt the importance of helping people and the impact of it to others.
K1 and K2 children were engaged in the discussion whereby they learnt the role of each community helpers and how they contribute to the community. To extend their appreciation, they made a Thank you card for the different community helpers.
As the project continued, the K1 and K2 children got to experience doing a small act of kindness by conducting a “Clean Up Drive” where they went out to pick up rubbish. The teachers explained the importance of this event as the children learned to value and appreciate our community helpers.
On 20th October 2022, we had our SSDB finale where K1 and K2 children were engaged in packing noodles and biscuits, they also made a thank you card and put it inside the package to show their appreciation to the community helpers. Then, we went out to give the packages to the community helpers around our neighbourhood.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents for their donations.
We appreciate your help and thank you for making this possible.
