Our Little Innovators have decided to embark on a fundraiser as part of our “Small Dreams and Big World-Paralympics” project! The children shared various ideas for the fundraiser and we decided on doing a Clay Project! The children will be working with clay to create meaningful pieces.
Why Clay?
Like clay, the building blocks of our budding society needs to be shaped patiently. They would all turn out differently, but nevertheless, probably just the way we want them to be - unique and somewhat vulnerable, so we can all practise a little bit of inclusiveness and love. Like the social fabric of our society, different people with different abilities come together to form the basic blocks of our communities, and with each of our uniqueness put together, we manage to form a beautiful picture.
This week, our Little Innovators have begun the process of brainstorming, discussing and executing their ideas to raise funds. They brainstormed and planned their designs by sourcing them online and drawing them out, then moulding them with clay. During the process, the children were met with challenges - their pieces breaking, or not being able to stick together; they also faced the difficulty in creating the pieces based on what they visualized. However, our Little Innovators were determined and continued to rework their pieces until they were completed.
We hope that these pieces can bring inspiration and meaning to their future owners!
