In line with our SSDB project, the K1 and K2 children of My First Skool @ Ang Mo Kio Blk 229 celebrated the launch of #SSDB2018 with the elderlies at COMNET Senior Services on 5 April 2018.
The aim of this project is to build a respectful culture and cultivate the value of giving back to elderlies in children. Food rations were collected from parents which were donated to the elderlies. The children began the launch party with a beautiful poem on ‘Spreading Kindness’ and led elderlies in some warm up exercises. In line with our aim to instill care and appreciation towards the environment, both children and elderlies were cooperatively engaged in an interesting craft where they worked cooperatively in upcycling plastic bottles into self-watering planters.
The launch party was a great success with the happy elderlies and children. It was an exciting start of a meaningful learning journey to our #SSDB2018 project!
