As part of the SSDB 2018, the teachers and Champs planned a trip to the SilverAce centres to interact with the elderly on the morning of 1st June 2018. In the evening, the teachers held a Charity Bazaar selling Champs’ artworks and food. We also had game stalls and craft stalls!
This allowed the Champs to make meanungful connections to why we are raising money and who will benefit from this sum of money that was raised.
In the morning, the whole school spilt into groups and visited 4 different SilverAce Centres. The Champs, teachers and parent volunteers treated the elderly to a sweet serenade of “甜蜜蜜” and some other songs. They then engaged the elderly in games like pass the parcel and a craft work where the elderly and Champs worked together to complete a heart collage. To end off the session, the Champs and the elderly made Vietnamese spring roll together and had it for snack.
