MFS SCC Inter-Generational Sports Carnival @ Woodlands Waterfront - 22nd July 2017

My First Skool Sembawang had our very first Inter-Generational Sports Carnival on 22nd July 2017 at Woodlands Waterfront. This event is part of the initiative the centre came up with for “Start Small Dream Big (SSDB)”. Parents did barter trade with items such as coffee and can food in exchange for the sports carnival tickets. The items donated will then be given to the elderly at Saint Luke’s Eldercare. We would like to thank all the 45 families who took the time to come and join us on the sunny Saturday for this fun-filled event!

The staff of MFS Sembawang started to set-up the different stations before the arrival of the families. In exchange for the sports day tickets, the families received a score card, goodie bag and also the Start Small Dream Big hat.

The teachers brainstormed and came up with 6 different sports stations for all the families to be engaged in. The teachers ensured that each station is suitable for all the different age groups to participate in.

There were also 3 quiet stations that were set-up. These stations were for those who would like to have some quiet and rest time after the active games! We even requested families and children to write messages for the elderly.

Families started coming in as early at 8.30am until 9.30 am to register for the sports carnival.

We started off the event with Ms Sha giving a welcome speech to everyone. After which, it was warm-up time! The teachers did the warm-up in front while the children and their family followed the steps. Once done, it was time to explore the different stations!
