In line with our 2023 SSDB theme, “Many Helping Hands, Caring for Everyone!”, Bedok Methodist Preschool (BMP) embarked on a project to raise awareness of the elderly in our community and to give our children an opportunity to show love and care to the elderly. We collaborated with Moral Home for the Aged Sick, which is within our vicinity.
We hope that by engaging in this partnership with the Home, the school will be able to build a more caring and inclusive community together.
As a Voluntary Welfare Organisation (VWO), the Moral Home for the Aged Sick rely on the general public and well-wishers for donations to assist them in their operation needs to provide holistic nursing care to their residents, in particular for 30 of them without next of kin.
Together with our parents, we collected food items through their generous donations. We visited the Moral Home for the Aged Sick, and our children put up a performance, as well as played games with the residents. They also made cards for the residents to show love and appreciation.
