On 26th July 2019, MOE Kindergarten @ Farrer Park officially launched the Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) Project – ‘Loving Our Singapore’. The title, ‘Loving Our Singapore’ is in conjunction with Singapore’s 54th National Day theme.
Through this SSDB project, we hope to cultivate in children a sense of responsibility and by keeping Singapore clean, is one of the many ways to love Singapore.
To kickstart the project, the children were first introduced to what ‘Start Small Dream Big’ (SSDB) was about. Then, we showed the children photos of people littering and discussed about how they felt when our environment is dirty.
Then we shared with the children the ‘Loving Our Singapore’ project that they were going to embark on together with the teachers.
After brainstorming on the different ways to keep Singapore clean, the children made a pledge to protect the cleanliness in Singapore.
After that, the children wrote on the SSDB pledge cards to state the different ways that they can show their love for Singapore.
We hung the pledge cards around the school to remind ourselves of what we have to do to ‘Love Our Singapore’ !
