Our Family, Our community! - To children, a significant part of their lives is spent with their families. Thus, we have dedicated one day in July for the children to show appreciation and care for their families through various meaningful activities.
The Pre-nursery children watched a video of the book: Who Will You Be? The book talks about the people in their families and their Iove for each other.
Then, they each created a colourful heart using markers, spray bottles, plastic and heart-shaped paper. That was a gift to their family members to show appreciation for their love.
The Nursery children were shown a picture of a messy room and they discussed what they could do at home to help their parents. The children said that they need to help their parents to clean up.
They then coloured the hearts and traced the words to give their parents to show appreciation.
These are the cards they made for their family!
The K1s read the book: Happy Birthday, Dawn and learnt about the five different acts of love.
We recapped and wrote down the five different acts of love!
Then, they drew what they would like to do with or for their parents on the SAM postcards.
These are their final beautiful work!
The K2s read the same book as the K1s and learnt that everyone can show different acts of love.
Using the SAM postcards, they drew their favourite activity with their family.
These are their amazing artwork!
Besides those activities above, the parents are also involved in this project. We invited parents to share photos of the children spending memorable time with their families and helping out with the tasks at home.
I love to help out by doing housework like keeping the laundry and watering the plants!
We celebrated my sister’s birthday, We were very helpful. We helped mummy to prepare many things throughout the day. I was responsible and my sister followed my footsteps.
I celebrated my cousin’s first birthday last Sunday! We had so much fun! We also celebrated Hari Raya Haji together as a family. My grandmother made ‘lepat’ glutinous rice wrapped in coconut leaves.
