As our MK children learnt about the value of love, they learnt the importance of giving to others. In collaboration with Families for Life, we shared a key message with our MK children, “To Love is to Give” and they learnt that there are different ways to show love to others.
With a book written and illustrated by our Chinese Language teachers, our MK children learnt about how others may not be as fortunate as them. They empathized and shared many ways they can help to make others feel better and loved. Some suggested saying kind words, while some suggested gifting presents.
We also had the opportunity to welcome staff from Sunbeam Place @ Children’s Society to share with our MK children more about who they are and what they do with the children there. Apart from learning more about the home, our MK children interacted with the staff and watched performances of some of the children.
Giving time is one of the five love languages that our MK children have learnt. Over the June holidays, they were encouraged to spend quality time with their family and to take many photographs to share. In class, our MK children were able to relive their wonderful moments with their families and talked about how much fun they had together, understanding how important family is.
We also started a donation drive to collect as many items to gift to the children. Together with personalized messages from each of our MK children and donations from the families, we hope that the home will always be blessed with love and happiness!
