As we welcome the Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) 2019 through the doors of Newton Kindergarten, our children from the Pre-Nursery classes took part in a school-wide collaborative effort to kick start the affair in a bid to present their appreciation to their loved ones.
With a narrative introduction that involved the teacher reading a story called “Thank You Card”, the children were then introduced to the idea of expressing appreciation towards others. Subsequently, they handcrafted unique paper origami flowers. In the process, there were countless moments of laughter as the children expressed their personal gratitude towards their loved ones, in particular, the elderly.
The origami flowers would be then presented together with an effort from our K2 students, who would be gifting honey to the pioneer generation. The collaborative effort reflects the entirety of the children’s appreciation and gratitude towards a generation who has laid the foundation of their future.
“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”
