The children from LFP Bishan participated in this event, from June 2023 and ended on the 20th of July 2023. We decided to do a drive to collect healthy food items for our elderly living in a block of flats managed by St Luke’s Eldercare.
We collected selective food items and the children got involved by bagging the items into individual bags. The children from Nursery, K1 and K2 also made handmade cards to thank them for allowing us to be part of the Bishan community. As such, the children worked tirelessly till the 19th of July.
We involved some of the children’s parents to transport the goodie bags to the vicinity of the flat. It was raining heavily as the children put on their raincoats and made a slow walk towards the flats, enjoying the experience.
The children went door to door to deliver the goodie bags.
The elderly were pleased and thanked the children for their effort and visit. The children too learned about the importance of showing appreciation towards the elderly and doing our part to do what we can for them.
