In conjunction with the ‘Start Small Dream Big’ project, the Nursery children made a visit to the old folks at Bright Hill Evergreen Home. Two weeks prior to the visit, the children had a ‘Earning Stars’ system in school whereby the children will earn the stars through showing good dispositions and behaviour in class and towards their friends.
The children then counted the numbers of stars that they had earned to buy the necessary items for the elderly.
The Nursery parents also joined us for this visit. The children served tea break to the elderly, put up a short performance and did a terrarium activity with the elderly too!
Overall, it was a meaningful and engaging experience for both the adults and the children. They get to interact with the elderly and at the same time, the children get to out reach to the community.
