The rational of SSDB project was introduced to our N2 - K1 children. They discussed and brainstormed ideas on how to show love and concern for the environment and people around them. They came up with activities such as picking up litter, making things out of recycled materials, donating healthy food items and performing for the Elderly.
To better understand the environment
around them, they were brought round the neighborhood to pick up litter outside the preschool to view a ‘Recycle-bin’ and to understand it’s usage.
During Art, N2 children made a vase each out of toilet-roll, K1 children made roses out of plastic bags and K2 children created beautiful pictures out of twigs and leaves. These were meant to be gifts for the Elderly. They became little ambassadors to bring home the message of ‘Respecting and Caring for the Elderly’ and parents showed their support by donating healthy food items.
The BIG Day came to visit the Elderly at SASCO Daycare centre. They joined them for their mass drill, performed for them and the most memorable moment presenting the self-made gift to each Elderly. They were touched by this gesture and most of them gave the children a hug or kiss in return.
