Lettuce Be Kind” cum National Day Celebration

We had a fundraising event – “Lettuce Be Kind” cum National Day Celebration on Friday, 4th August 2017 as part of SSDB. The K1 children who are the little ambassadors of the Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) project led the whole kindergarten to participate in making handicrafts using reusable materials. Parent volunteers and residents from the Bishan Home for the Intellectually Disabled worked with our children in the making of the crafts.

During the celebration, the K1 children led in songs. Their zest and enthusiasm got our Guest-of-Honour, Mr Chong Kee Hiong (Advisor to Bishan – Toa Payoh GRC GROs) to sing along too. We had the honour of Mr Chong to do the opening ceremony.

Thereafter, he mingled with the crowd, played games and even purchased crafts made by the residents of the Bishan Home. Many stakeholders and parents turned up for the event and gave generously to this project. All proceeds will go to the Bishan Home for the Intellectually Disabled.

It was a day where the community, parents, teachers and children came together to experience how sharing and caring could make an impact in the lives of the less fortunate!
