On 20th July 2019, our Centre conducted a workshop specially for our children, their parents and grandparents. Our teacher, Mrs Rasoo, had invited a speaker, Ms Karen, from the National Environmental Agency to give a talk about reducing waste by practising the 3Rs, and getting to know how to save our environment and our landfill.
Afterwards, we had a hands-on activity to create a tote bag out of unwanted cotton shirts. The children learnt how to cut on a piece of cloth and to create double knots with the help and guidance from their parents and grandparents. Everyone persevered and able create a “new” tote bag for themselves.
