No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. - Aesop
On 22 May 2018, our K2, N2 and N1 children are pleased to embark on ‘Start Small Dream Big Project 2018’. Our theme, ‘Let Kindness Grow in Us’, aims to create awareness of being kind to people around us, animals and environment.
Prior to the launch, K2 children were actively engaged in discussion on ‘Animals and Our Community and Ways to Show Kindness to Them’. Video clips/news articles on animals that have been abandoned/abused were shown to enable children to understand better about showing kindness to animals.
The K2s pledged on how they could show kindness to animals and had fun playing Singapore Kindness Movement (SKM) card game ‘Yes Cubbie, No Cubbie’ and board game ‘Speedy Cubbies’.
The N2 children listened to stories on kindness to develop a better understanding on the topic. Children and teachers discussed on the variety of ways to show kindness to people around them. They made a pledge to show kindness to all by having their handprint on the SSDB star card and believe by starting a small kindness act, it will spread to others and bigger acts of kindness could be achieved.
Not to forget our N1 children who took their pledge too. They sat in for a presentation on Climate Change and Global Warming to know more about the environment. They pledge to help the Earth by caring for the environment.
Do stay tuned for our exciting upcoming activities for Semester 2!
