In the process of building a caring and inclusive society, our centre has decided to educate and inform children of the current Covid-19 pandemic affecting our migrant workers and teach them to appreciate these workers who played an important role in our country on top of our original project of showing appreciation and care for the greenery in our neighbourhood. Hence, during the 2nd Circuit Breaker, we uploaded an e-storybook titled “Pugal” created by one of our teacher that talks about the characteristics of a migrant worker, the benefits they brought about to Singapore and what is happening to them now.
The Story “Pugal”
After the story, the children and their families will create a heart shape using any materials they can find around their house to show their support and care with this heart shape.
We created a photo collage of some of the heart shape masterpieces created by our children and their families as seen below. This activity is also in conjunction with the Project Chulia Street that aims to create an awareness and recognition for all migrant workers who contributed and worked tirelessly in the development of Singapore. #STAYSAFE #STAYHEALTHY #SGUNITED
