For this September holiday, our Champs integrated the theme “Let’s play together” by learning more about the various disabilities that people have.
Champs watched some short clips on the Paralympics and felt that the reason why these sportsman could win the games is because they never gave up.
After watching the Paralympics, Champs had their own version by hopping on one foot and attempted to complete their daily routines of retrieving their bags from their chubby hole and moving from one place to another.
They experienced what it is like to be blind by being blindfolded and learn to move around in the classroom looking for their things, packing their bag and walk around using their sense of touch to know where they are going.
They shared their past experiences of seeing blind people walking on the road and also they have seen guide dogs around as well. They also know that if a person is wearing sunglasses or is walking around with a cane or with a guide dog, that person is visually-impaired.
Lastly, they understand that a mute person is unable to talk and a deaf person is unable to hear. Hence they played a game of charades which consist of animals, objects and fairy tales.
