As we want children to explore the link between people, animals and environment we embarked into an activity where we will gain knowledge about it just like Aquaponics.
What is Aquaponics? What does a fish and plants do together?
In this activity children learned that in Aquaponics, it represents the relationship between water, aquatic life, bacteria, nutrient dynamics, and plants that grow together in waterways all over the world. In layman’s term, Aquaponics is putting the fish to work.
How does that happen?
It just so happen that the work those fish do (eating and producing waste) is the perfect fertilizer for growing plants. The plants roots produces the food for the fishes showing how these two individual group links to sustain each other’s life.
Children had fun with the activity of making their own Aquaponics and learned a lot, now they are the superheroes that takes care of it.
