As a collaboration with Start Small Dream Big and Community Chest, Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) has partnered us with NTUC Health Day Centre for Seniors (Marsiling) for the intergenerational programme.
To encourage close relationships between the seniors and the children, we have organised for them to celebrate the Mid-Autumn festival virtually where they get to meet one another for a short gathering and appreciate the importance of reunion. We have planned a virtual zoom session for the Nursery and Kindergarten 1 children to meet the seniors from NTUC Health Day Centre for Seniors (Marsiling).
The children had a ‘Kopi session’ with them where they had a chance to greet the seniors, chit chat with them and share about what they will be doing during the event. The seniors were very responsive as they interacted with the children very well. The Nursery and Kindergarten 1 children voice over an animation about how Mid-Autumn Festival came about. They were excited to share and invited the seniors to watch it together.
The children invited the seniors to make lanterns together virtually. They took turns to teach the seniors how they can make it. At the end of the session, both the children and seniors enjoyed the sessions and were pleased with the lanterns that they have made.
