Kinderland Hougang organized ‘Kindness to the Environment’ carnival on 14 August 2019 (Wednesday) to raise funds for Lions Befrienders Singapore. Preparation started weeks prior to the event, with teachers and children planning for food items, creating terrariums and upcycled crafts to be sold during the carnival. Discussions on the carnival theme were also carried out to increase children’s awareness.
During the carnival, our children performed songs, dances, and skits based on the theme. Our Kindergarten 1 and Kindergarten 2 children also played their part in managing stalls that sold crafts, terrariums and food items. Through the process, our children learnt ways of protecting our Earth and became more aware of how they can contribute to the community.
