‘Kindness Begins with Me’ as a bucket filler, the children understand that one has to be kind not only to other people but also towards themselves. Therefore, the K1 children created a Kindness Rock whereby it is a platform for children to lift themselves and others up through simple acts of kindness.
Where the children chose a random act of kindness and wrote it down on their painted rocks. After which they describe the act of kindness that they want to do. With every act of kindness done, I will place a pom pom ball in their buckets.
This activity encourages children to find opportunities to show not only kindness to others but also to themselves and reminds them that kindness begins within themselves.
