Teachers and children of PCF Sparkletots Preschool @ Bukit Panjang Blk 412 decided to embark on the project ‘Keep the ocean clean’. We wanted to bring an awareness of marine conservation to the children as this was an area often overlooked or given little consideration.
On the 25th June 2020, two stories were read to children. These stories were read to children for them to observe and ponder over the marine life. The first story was about a clean ocean with happy sea creatures and the second story was a trash-filled ocean with unhappy sea creatures. Children shared their views, opinions and came to a conclusion that the trash people dump affect the lives of the sea creatures in the ocean.
The children then went on to design posters encouraging people to save marine life. Prior to this activity, children had brainstormed on the things that could be affecting the marine life and how everyone can play a part to save lives.
Marine life matters too.. don’t they?
