As part of “Keep Clean, Singapore!” campaign, Cherie Hearts Kidz Campus (Pasir Ris Elias Mall) had worked closely with National Environmental Agency (NEA) to organise a clean-up activity at Pasir Ris Park on 5 May 2017 (Friday).
The objective of this campaign is to cultivate good value in terms of community works for our children.
Besides having great support from NEA, we are also glad to receive good support from the parents in this meaningful community work. Besides giving consents for their children to participate in “Keep Clean Singapore!” campaign, many parents also made themselves available to join the children in the “Clean-up” activities.
This activity involves picking up of litter within designated areas of Pasir Ris Park. The participants were given gloves, tongs, black trash-bag and a blue recycle bag (for keeping recyclables)
A sharing session about “Keep Clean Singapore!” Campaign was conducted before the Clean-Up Day.
On 5 May 2017, after the participants gathered at meeting point in Pasir Ris Park, teacher conducted a short briefing about the campaign.
Thereafter, the participants set off in groups to clear the designated area. During the process, we could observe that children and their parents were working so happily and closely together for locating and picking up litters and recyclables in the park. Wow! It was such a good parent/child bonding activity! Thank you all for your support.
After collecting litters and recyclables, the participants returned to assembly point and handed over their collections to teachers for taking the weighs of recyclables collected as well as the weight of litters. These bags were then left at NEA’s designated collection area.
Through this activity, our children also learnt about importance of keeping our public areas clean.
