Right after the visit and service learning experience at Fei Yue Senior Activity Centre on 6 July, our K-level children started to voluntarily make connection and relate their experiences and appreciation towards their own grandparents. With teachers’ facilitation, they brainstormed and agreed to plan for a special outing with their grandparents.
Since the National Museum was featuring the Children’s Season which featured our Singapore’s history, we have chosen it as our next outing venue and to make it even more special, we sent special invitation for the children’s grandparents to join in the outing for FREE.
Our children enjoyed the nostalgic art installations and they had an enriching time, walking down the memory lane with their beloved grandparents, especially since some of the seniors could remember and identify with the artifacts placed at the History Gallery.
Our teachers also had the opportunity to connect with the children’s grandparents and listened to their stories on how appreciative they were to have this opportunity to enjoy a school outing with their grandchildren.
