JSDS 528 SSDB Start Small Dream Big Programme: JSDS 528 Family Night
The SSDB (Start Small Dream Big) Programme continues to inspire and unite communities through its impactful initiatives, exemplified by the heartwarming event held at PCF Sparkletots Preschool @ Jurong Spring Block 528. In this latest chapter of community engagement, parents, children, and residents from NTUC Health @ Jurong Spring Nursing Home gathered for a day of health, unity, and shared experiences.
A Holistic Approach to Wellness
The event began on a wholesome note with a “Healthy Breakfast” segment, where parents were invited to contribute their own fruit salads with their child. This simple act of preparing and sharing food demonstrated the significance of nutritious choices while encouraging parents and children to engage in healthy meal practices.
Unity in Motion: Zumba for All
The highlight of the event was undoubtedly the invigorating “Healthy Exercise with Zumba.” Children, parents, and the residents from NTUC Health @ Jurong Spring Nursing Home took part in a vibrant and rhythmic Zumba session. Led by enthusiastic teachers, this activity transcended age and ability, exemplifying the power of movement to unite people from different walks of life. The joyful atmosphere encouraged everyone to let loose, have fun, and focus on their overall well-being.
Bracelet Giving Ceremony
In the midst of the Zumba energy, our centre principal, Ms. Amirah, presented the DIY Bracelets crafted during a previous family night. This simple yet meaningful gesture symbolized the continuation of their collaborative efforts and demonstrated the importance of building bridges between different segments of the community. The exchange highlighted the lasting impact of SSDB events, where connections formed are nurtured over time.
JSDS 528 SSDB Start Small Dream Big Programme: JSDS 528 Donation Drive
JSDS 528 organized a heartwarming and impactful donation drive with parents for the residents at NTUC Nursing Home, bringing smiles and comfort to the residents. Parents generously contributed by donating dry food items and packet drinks, making it a memorable event for all involved.
The donation drive was a resounding success, with parents contributing a wide variety of dry food items and packet drinks. These essential supplies are invaluable to the residents of the nursing home, providing them with not only nourishment but also a sense of care and compassion from the community.
K2 children also had the opportunity to personally pack the donation hamper to the residents. These interactions were filled with genuine emotions as the little ones shared their love and creativity, creating heartwarming connections.
Children from the other levels also showcased their creativity and artistic talents through various arts and crafts activities. They crafted thoughtful and heartwarming items that would bring joy to the residents.
In conclusion, our SSDB project has been an incredible journey of learning, growth and making a positive impact on our community. Through our various initiatives, we have shown that even small acts of kindness can create a ripple effect of positive change. Let these values guide us not just within the school but also in our daily lives, as we continue to make a difference in the world, one small dream at a time.
