In relation to the children’s community involvement for gardening. The K2 children enthusiastically scheduled a clean-up day around the community area where the school is located. Prior to this activity, the children shared related information how a trash affects the plant growth and environment’s cleanliness. They also mentioned how it causes harm to animals and insects as well. It causes water, land, and air pollution. They also understood that segragation is important for waste management. Indeed, it is to be done in order to maintain the community’s green scenery and cleanliness.
Semakau island was introduced to the children. They discovered that it is a landfill where our waste is being taken care of. It is also an island that protects both coastal and marine habitats. They learnt that everyone is responsible in ensuring that waste management is being done correctly and recycling is a vital part of it.
