Water Wetnesday
As we took part in the yearly Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) project with our theme, “Water-WETnesdays” FY2021. IYAD Hougang had their Launch Party last 12 April 2020.
As Singapore celebrated the World Water Day last March, we would like to carry out water activities such as cleaning, planting, washing on Wednesdays every fortnightly from June onwards. The objective of this project is to create awareness on how climate change threatens our water security.
During the Launch Party, children had an opening song “Turn Off The Tap”.
The teacher presented a powerpoint slides about the Water Wednesday Project and shared tips on how to save water in our every day lives. And at the end of the presentation, the teacher showed a story about “Caleb the Catfish”. The children enjoyed and learnt on how to save and take care our water in our environment.
The children explored water and colours through art activities such as Spray bottle art, tissue paper art and painting with bubbles.
