As part of our SSDB 2021 Project, we partnered with SPD this year to do our part in brightening the children’s days. Because visits to the SPD centres are not allowed due to the pandemic, the K2 students in our centre decided to produce an animation video using the story by The Singapore Kindness Movement, “It’s Not Nice To Be Alone” written by Charlotte Johnson and Grace Cronin.
In addition to that, they created some handmade cards for the children at SPD as well.
Our students had so much fun using playdough to create the characters in the story, decorating the background sceneries made up of shoeboxes, and recording voiceovers of the various characters in the story. The K2 students have also enjoyed watching the end product of their hard work.
The children at SPD were delighted to receive the cards and the adults were impressed by the video - the children enjoyed watching it as well!
Through this project, we hope that it will be able to inspire other children to bring joy to others - and that it is possible to do so while having fun. We also hope that this project will help to instil kindness in all of us and encourage inclusivity in the community.
