April (K2 weaving craft)
As Hari Raya was drawing near, the K2 children participated in a ketupat weaving craft. The children had fun during the activity and would like the elderly to try it out. The children demonstrated muscle strength in their fingers as well as great eye-hand coordination in the paper weaving activity. This is also a great activity for the elderly to practice their fine motor skills and enjoy the craft together.
May (K1 performance)
The K1 children did a performance of a Chinese song titled “Gan En You Ni”. The children then went into different groups to play simple games with the elderlies. We prepared the parachute game as well as passing the ping pong ball using a cup. Both the elderlies and children enjoyed the game and did not want to stop. They kept asking for the games to continue through their gestures and actions. Overall, it was a fun day interacting and playing games with the elderlies.
June (N2 interactions with the elderly)
In June, the Nursery 2 children prepared many songs to perform for the elderly members to enjoy. The elderly member were all very happy and impressed with the children’s singing skills.
After which, the grandpa and grandmas also wanted to perform 2 songs for the children with lively music and smiles on their faces. The children smiled as they clapped along with the melody.
