The K1 and K2 children had the opportunity to participate in the Humanitarian Trail at the Red Cross Campsite, organized by Red Cross Youth. This experience was designed to provide them with valuable life skills and knowledge about emergency preparedness and first aid. During their visit, they learned basic first aid techniques such as CPR and abdominal thrusts for choking. They practiced these procedures with guidance from the volunteers. This event not only equipped them with valuable knowledge but also instilled a sense of confidence and readiness to handle emergency situations in the future.
The Red Cross volunteers provided detailed instructions and demonstrations, ensuring that the children understood each step of the procedures. This hands-on experience allowed the children to practice these CPR and abdominal thrusts techniques themselves.
The children participated in a water filtration relay, where they took turns pumping filtered water. This fun and challenging activity emphasized teamwork, problem-solving, and the importance of clean water in humanitarian efforts.
Back in school, they carried out post activities and discussed what they have learned during the trail.
Children shared they enjoyed themselves very much!
