In relation to our SSDB (Start Small Dream Big) project, EBridge had a memorable visit from the Sea Aquarium staff, who gave an insightful talk about marine animals. This event tied back to our N2 field trip to the Sea Aquarium in Term 2, allowing the children to relive their experiences and deepen their understanding of marine life. The staff, known as ‘captains,’ began by recapping the visit, highlighting the various marine animals the children had encountered, and answered questions, fostering a sense of wonder about the ocean’s inhabitants.
Additionally, the captain introduced the concept of the 3Rs: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle, explaining how these practices are essential in protecting our oceans and marine life. They discussed the impact of pollution on marine ecosystems and shared practical ways to protect marine animals, such as reducing plastic use and participating in beach clean-ups. The on-site talk empowered the children to take active steps in caring for the environment aligning with the goals of our SSDB project. The visit enriched the children’s understanding of marine life and environmental stewardship
