MCI Kindergarten held a successful Family Day Carnival on Saturday, 19 August 2017. This was the last phase of our SSDB community outreach project. The theme is about environmental friendliness, an extension of what our children had been learning about caring for the earth.
We involved the whole kindergarten community (parents, children, staff, vendors, friends, church volunteers) to contribute and participate.
A variety of activities were organized for families and friends to have a fun and memorable bonding time together. At the same time, the message about being kind to the environment was conveyed through their participation in the various activities.
Games created with reusable materials
Fun with henna painting by our parents
Craftivity sponsored and conducted by our vendor
The ‘Wild Safari’ Bounce and Jump sponsored by our parents
Sale of toys, books and stationery items donated by our parents and crafts made by our pupils from reusable materials
Come Hungry, Leave Happy, Yummy Yum Yum - food and drinks sponsored and prepared by our staff and friends
Ready, Get Set, Snap! Photography by our church volunteers
The sales proceeds collected will be donated to the President’s Challenge. We thank the parents for their generous support in cash and kind. We deeply appreciate the time and efforts our children, staff, vendors and church partners put in to make the carnival an eventful one.
It was a meaningful experience and learning journey for all. The children had learnt that though they are young, they can make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate. The little that we contributed and put together has truly helped us to fulfill our dream to give back to society.
