As part of our community education, Kinderland Preschool @ Sengkang conducted our annual Little Entrepreneurs Project to give children an opportunity to learn entrepreneurial skills early in life.
This year, we organized an ‘Art Bazaar’, where net proceeds from the carnival were raised for Lions Befrienders, with a greater awareness in our children to build a nation where every senior is active, healthy and happy.
Our Kindergarten 1 and 2 children were rostered to manage booths with their innovative handmade art pieces for sale, such as Hand Printed Plates by the Pre-Nursery 1s, Potted Plants by the Pre-Nursery 2s, D.I.Y Clocks by Nursery, Lego Hand Soaps by the K1s and Yummy Cookies for the K2s!
Through this, they displayed creativity and innovation in coming up with marketing and negotiation strategies to attract parents to purchase their products. At the same time, their sale of items was a demonstration of mathematical concepts, by ensuring that the coupons collected tallied with the cost of the item.
All in all, it was a fun and educational learning experience for the teachers, children and parents!
