Super Talent Childcare @MacPherson 93 embarked on Start Small Dream Big 2024.
To encourage our young ones to show care and love within our community, this year we will focus on “Golden Moments: Honouring Ours Elders”. The aim is to educate and bring awareness in our young children to build a strong sense of community and empathy towards their own parents, grandparents and the elderly.
The teacher had planned various activities in school such as class discussions and storytelling on how to care for the elderly as well as understanding their needs.
Dramatization was also carried out in the classroom on the behaviour and needs of the elderly.
In collaboration with THK AAC @ BIk 90, the children also had 2 days with the elderly to bring joy, comfort, and companionship to them.
Day 1, the children from Kindergarten 1 and 2 had a morning and ‘Chicken Dance’ exercise followed by serving lunch to the elderly.
Day 2 the children spent the afternoon warming the grannie’s hearts with another dance performance, “It’s A Small World” followed by ‘Let’s Colour Together’ activity.
The children rounded up the event with an “Act of Giving” where children brought items such as biscuits, oatmeal, coffee/tea, Milo, Horlicks and milk powder to the elderly to learn the value of generosity, kindness and appreciation.
