After almost a month of investigating about climate change, our special agents responded fast and started their first small step against climate change – Gardening.
Children’s knowledge about what is climate change, its causes, and solutions for it was extended through a series of lessons and activities. The children together with their teachers learnt basic planting skills as part of their “G.R.C. Against Climate Change” project.
Gardening Workshop for Teachers
To effectively teach our children how to grow a garden, we teachers learnt the basics from the expert from NParks Community In Bloom (CIB) on how to start a CIB garden in preschool. We learnt the importance of the correct proportion of mixing soil, sand and compost together to grow a healthy plant. We used toilet paper rolls as our seed pots and planted Pak Choy seeds. After a week our seeds germinated and it was time to transfer them in bigger planter boxes.
We were all very happy to see our Pak Choy growing and we were also very much excited to start with CIB garden together with the children.
Stay tuned for next stories and catch our children participation in greening the earth.
