As an SSDB closure, the teachers sorted and packed the food items received from parents. The donations were much more than expected and we were thankful to the parents for their generosity. Each care pack included the food items, cards made by the children and DIY sanitiser. We went out on different days to hand out the care packs to the firemen at the nearby fire post and community helpers around the neighbourhood. It was a way to express our gratitude for their sacrifices and hard work to provide us with our basic needs. Lastly, we made a visit to a nearby dorm to hand out the last care pack. Apart from handing out the care packs, the children’s awareness on donating and volunteering has been raised. Other than giving thanks, it raises the question of who really needs these care packs? It provokes them to think about the needs in the community and encourages curious questions about who might need donations and why. Until next year!
