Getting to know our community helper

On this SSDB journey, the children learned about Community Helpers. After discussions, they decided to invite our neighborhood policeman to give a talk about crime prevention to the whole school. They had a great time exploring the police mobile, asking questions, and conducting interviews out of curiosity. Parents were also involved in this meaningful event.

After the police talk, the children worked in small groups to create posters to raise awareness for the younger age groups in the school.

To show appreciation to the policeman, the children wrote thank-you letters expressing their gratitude for keeping the community safe.

On their way to mail the letters, the children also went on an adventure and explored to the nearby neighborhood, where they met other community helpers such as the librarian, florist, and bakers at the bakery shop.

The policeman was excited to receive the letters and greatly appreciated them.
