Previously, the children had learnt how soap can help us to remove germs. Yet, they found ways to conjour up more mysteries to solve:
What do germs look like? What happens to our food when germs are on it?
We embarked on a new mission to find out how germs looked like! They found out that it was very tiny, and could only be visible under a powerful microscope.
They discovered that the COVID-19 virus had crowns around it, and gave it a nickname - King Covid!
They wanted to find out the impact of germs on the food we eat, so they did a simple Bread Experiment:
-
With unwashed hands (preferably dirty), touch one slice of bread.
-
Pick a second slice of bread and touch it using washed hands (with soap).
-
Place both slices of bread into individual ziplock bags.
-
Observe the visual changes daily over 2-3 weeks.
The children compared the results between both slices of bread. They were so excited to watch the visual changes as the days passed by!
Take a look at their results:
The children were able to reinforce the importance of washing their hands to remove germs, especially before and after eating their food.
As Special Agents, the children were further tasked to bring home what they had learnt with their family.
💪🏻 A stronger me, a stronger us! We stand together! ♥️
