To start our fruitful journey of SSDB 2021, all the children in our centre participated in the Garden’s Day event last 22nd of January.
The main objective of the celebration was to let the children learn about the importance of planting, gardening and recycling to protect our environment. This will be our first step to achieve our Edible Garden project for this year.
The toddler class helped to water the plants in our garden.
While the N1 children planted some potatoes for us to harvest soon. They used the school’s milk container as the pots for planting.
Our N2 children created news paper planters where they use to plant seeds with their teachers.
The awesome K1 class created a home for insects using different recycling materials. They also explored the garden to search for insects using a magnifying glass.
Finally, the amazing K2 class made their terrarium using recycled bottles and decorated it with materials brought from home. The children displayed their creativity during the process as they took ownership of their learning.
