Galleria of our Community (Inspired by SAM art)

As part of this year’s Start Small, Dream Big (SSDB) initiative and theme, “Our Family, Our Community”, the children of Ace @ Work (Cashew Heights) focused on learning about themselves, their family, the community and the members of the community.

For their June Holiday activity, the children focused on doing artwork that focused on prints. In partnership with the Singapore Art Museum (SAM), the children created art pieces inspired by the community and its people.

Here are some photos of the children doing their crafts:

The children from the PG class created a tree made of paint and their handprints.

The children of N1 created a collage using recycled materials, paint and photos of their family members.

The children of N2 created an artwork showing their favourite place in the community using recycled materials.

The children of K1 drew a pixelated portrait of a family member. The children also shared why they love the family member they chose.

The children of K2 drew a portrait of a community member they know. The children also shared the roles of the community member they drew.

As a closing activity, the school showcased the children’s artworks for everyone to appreciate the children’s works.
