Since 2020, we have been battling against a global pandemic, the coronavirus. COVID-19 as our children would call it. It has not been easy on any of us but we are still putting up a strong fight against this deadly virus.
This year, our children talked about how COVID-19 has affected the lives of many around them, including themselves. They shared how they had to stay home to keep themselves and their family safe. They also shared how they can only go out in twos and how they had to maintain social distancing with the people around them. Wearing masks is also a new normal for all of us. Each and every one of us are doing our part to keep the country safe from this virus. Everyone especially our front liners.
Despite the spike in cases, these front liners play a crucial role in protecting us and our country. Our children recognise their hard work, their efforts and their sacrifices. They had the opportunity to watch a video from a front liner’s point of view and felt empathy. They shared how hard a front liner’s work can be and it only takes a simple act of kindness to make their day feel better.
To assure them of their job well done, our children created a gift filled with words of encouragement and appreciation for our front liners. They were gifted to the front liners at Sengkang General Hospital, in hopes to brighten their days during these trying times.
