To find out why does food turn bad, the children conducted two experiments using the food items - milk and bread. In class, 1 packet of milk was stored in the refrigerator while the other was stored in the classrooom at room temperature. After four days, children shared their observations of both packets of milk.
For the bread mould experiment, parents were tasked to work with their child to observe how long it takes for bread to develop mould. The children recorded their observations in their observations journal and eagerly shared their findings in class.
Building on this exploration, the children delved into the next question: How can we ensure proper food storage? With this question in mind, the children engaged in a learning experience where they discovered the appropriate storage methods for different types of food, resulting in gaining new knowledge on how to properly store various food items.
