Prior to the final visit, the children add colours to newspapers by painting them in blue and green. The purpose of using newspaper instead of normal coloured paper was to be aligned with our theme of “recycling”. Following, the children went down to the care home and completed a simple art activity by tearing and pasting the pre-painted newspaper onto paper plates. The final work resembled the image of the earth. As it was the last visit, the children also gave every participating resident and staff a flower which they have made from the top of a plastic bottle. The children painted each petal carefully and meticulously, and were eager to give out their little token of appreciation to the residents and staff at the end. (Note: please do not re-publish the photos on any other social media platforms due to confidentiality of the residents of the care home. Thank you!)
